Antique Crown Staffordshire porcelain inkwell (desk inkstand), England, probably manufactured between 1913 and the late 1920s.

This beautifully decorated porcelain inkstand features an all-over floral chintz design with hand-gilded edging and the original matching porcelain lid. The base is marked:

Crown Staffordshire
Made in England
Registration No. 622733
The registered design dates to 1913, and this example was likely produced during the early decades of the 20th century.

Originally intended to hold a removable glass ink reservoir (not included), this piece is now ideal as a decorative display item, collector’s piece, or elegant addition to a writing desk.

Original porcelain lid included.
Original glass ink liner is missing.
Very light age-related wear consistent with antique use, including minor wear to the gilding and staining on the lid and inkwell rim.
There is a minor stable shrinkage separation line at the seam where the inkwell holder meets the tray. This is an authentic manufacturing trait common in early 20th century pottery. It is completely stable and an integral part of this beautiful Edwardian piece.

A charming example of early Crown Staffordshire craftsmanship and an increasingly uncommon Edwardian desk accessory.
