A stunning vintage 1970s Italian metallic foil art print ("Quadretto Lamina Paesaggio"). Sourced directly from a vintage market in Rome, Italy, this is a unique historic piece. A charming vintage Italian winter landscape picture, featuring snow-covered hills, a winding stream, little cottages in the distance and two red-breasted birds perched on a rustic fence. Look closely and you'll spot two tiny figures making their way through the snow.
The real magic is in the reflective metallic foil artwork. This authentic mid-century decor piece was created using an ingenious, now-obsolete process where a beautiful winter illustration was printed onto an embossed, textured silver foil sheet. When natural light or cozy fireplace glow catches the artwork, the unpainted metallic highlights—such as the frozen winding stream, the glistening snowy hill contours, and the atmospheric winter sky—reflect light with a beautiful, three-dimensional shimmer….Please watch the listing video to see this lovely effect.
Presented beneath glass in a traditional gold-toned frame with a dark mount, this nostalgic little picture has all the warmth and charm of a European winter scene.
A lovely vintage piece for a festive mantelpiece, cosy sitting room or winter gallery wall.
