A beautiful, high-quality vintage central European fine porcelain pierced lattice serving bowl, decorated in the timeless, traditional Blue Onion (Zwiebelmuster) style.
This elegant 18cm display dish features an intricate, hand-finished reticulated (basketweave) border with classic star-intersection cutouts. The floor of the bowl is adorned with the iconic underglaze cobalt blue motif, showcasing stylized peony blossoms.
An elegant standalone piece for a traditional dresser, a fruit or bonbon server, as a catch all in a hallway, or an eye-catching addition to a blue-and-white chinoiserie gallery display…so many uses.
Dimensions:
Approx. 18 cm x 4 cm
Condition:
In excellent vintage condition with exceptionally clean lattice work and a brilliant, clear porcelain chime. Please note that the underside base features a smooth, natural underglaze cobalt blue haze or cloud rather than a crisp factory stamp. This is an authentic feature of high-heat kiln firing where the underglaze cobalt ink naturally misted into the liquid glaze layer, giving the piece wonderful genuine vintage character. No chips, cracks, or restoration.
