This is an exquisite vintage miniature print on satin fabric. This charming piece features a classically romantic still-life scene depicting a lush bouquet of flowers nestled inside a traditional urn, printed onto a beautiful satin-textured background that gives the artwork a soft, elegant sheen.
The miniature is in its original, highly unique gilt frame featuring a fancy mottled gold effect (with a wonderfully distinctive cracked, textured look reminiscent of a classic tiger loaf pattern!!). It is finished beautifully with a decorative beaded inner border and a classic brass hanging ring at the very top, making it ready to hang immediately.
While unbranded, the plush flocked backing, top ring hanger, and ornate style strongly resemble the classic mid-century Italian Florentine export styles popular throughout the 1970s.
Condition:
In excellent vintage condition. The vibrant colors of the satin print remain sharp and beautiful. The ornate mottled gold effect frame is clean and striking. Any slight darkening around the inner frame corners is simply the natural shadow of the satin fabric resting organically against the border.
The sturdiness of the frame is fully intact. The reverse features its original green velvet/flocked paper backing. Please note that at some time during its life a previous owner attached four small, black adhesive Velcro coins to the backing paper (ideal for damage-free wall mounting or sticking directly to a surface). These are completely hidden when hung.
