Beautifully delightful vintage SECLA Portugal lidded butter dish. Expertly crafted in the traditional Majolica style, the base is detailed to look like a rustic wooden dairy barrel wrapped with blue banding hoops. The lid acts as a field of green grass supporting a wonderfully sculpted, three-dimensional resting cow finial.
Originally designed as a butter or cream crock, it makes a striking statement on a cottagecore breakfast table, a display shelf, or as a gift for country kitchen collectors
Estimated Era: c. 1950s - 1970s
Approx 11.5 x 12 cm
Good vintage condition overall! The main body and base are free from major chips or cracks, and the glaze remains exceptionally glossy and bright. Please note there is a tiny nibble and subsequent minor paint/glaze wear on the tip of one of the cow's ears due to age and gentle handling. This is strictly superficial and does not detract from its retro display charm. Please see all photos for close-up details.
